Leadership Circles for womxn in design
About
Within is a collection of content and experiences for womxn in design and technology. Built around connection, reflection, learning and creativity, each experience is crafted to bring together a community and conversation that inspires womxn to lead as their full selves.
Building on the success of our retreats, Within is expanding by launching Leadership Circles in select cities in January 2020.

FoRMAT
Within Leadership Circles provide a safe, intimate environment for exploring and discussing key leadership themes (and challenges) with peers. Leverage the group's experience, knowledge and creativity to strengthen your own skills and leadership techniques.
Leadership Circles are three-hour sessions with two parts:
Facilitated discussion around common design leadership challenges
Peer coaching circle where each participant can receive input on their specific challenges
Within has personally selected and trained City Leads from the local design community to facilitate the Leadership Circles.
LEADERSHIP CIRCLE BENEFITS
The circle is a membership model and will be based in six different cities (Los Angeles, New York City, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC.)
Memberships are a six month commitment. Upon becoming a member in their city, participants will be invited to six monthly Leadership Circles with a small group of selected design leaders. Each session will include dinner, drinks and workshop materials.
In addition (and beyond the six months), members will receive access to:
A private Within Slack channel for ongoing, asynchronous support from your Leadership Circle
Access to the exclusive, invite-only Within community Slack group—a highly curated group of experienced design leaders for ongoing connection, learning and support
A six month membership costs $600.

NYC leads
Ariba jahan
Ariba Jahan is the Director of Innovation at the Ad Council, where she’s charged with scaling design thinking, inspiring a culture of experimentation, creating digital products to create social impact, and exploring future-forward technology. As an immigrant Bengali woman that discovered her profound hearing loss at age eight, Ariba focuses advocating for diverse, marginalized voices and ensuring we bring humanity into tech.
APRIL NEUFELD
With nearly two decades of crafting solutions and building design teams, April’s passions lie in cultivating sustainable and fluid organizations that can tackle the most adventurous of challenges. She believes by creating the conditions for design teams to have opportunities to think deeply, collaborate fully, and work creatively, that the best experience emerges.
She has crafted experiences with HBO, Samsung, Scholastic, and Audible. In her previous role as Director of User Experience, she led the design of Audible experiences to change how customers listen while they drive, enjoy short-form original shows, and bringing listening to life for children.
April is exploring the intersection of design, leadership, and mindfulness.
